It looks like our first yacon seedling is a very early flowerer. That’s exciting, since we need more early varieties in order to have a chance to mature seed outdoors.
Good news!! 
An interesting feature of this yacon seedling: it has more ray florets than any of the other varieties that we grow. Since each ray floret can produce one seed, that might mean greater seed set. So, it is early, abundantly flowering, and offers more possible seeds per flower. Hopefully it has at least a passable yield and good flavor. If so, we’ll probably start offering it next year.
