Field and laboratory tools

People often ask about the tools that I use. There really aren’t that many, but this thread will be a single place where I can share that information. You are also welcome to contribute your suggestions and experiences.

I have no affiliations with any manufacturer or supplier.

This is my new favorite container for pollen collection and storage:

It is wide enough to accommodate most flowers, deep enough to keep the pollen from blowing away on windy days, black so the pollen is easy to see, and it will easily fit a desiccant packet to dry the pollen. I don’t like fumbling around with flip caps, but it is easy to cut the hinge.

For pollinating potatoes, I use a size #3 round paintbrush.
